Alexander Pacteau, the man charged with the savage murder of Irish student Karen Buckley, has lodged an appeal against the minimum 23-year sentence handed down to him.
On what grounds such appeal has been made has not yet been made public.
Pacteau pleaded guilty to the murder of Ms. Buckley, which took place in April this year. He offered her a lift home outside a Glasgow nightclub and murdered her inside his car.
It is understood that Mr. Pacteau is due to be moved to the newly refurbished high-security Shotts Prison, following threats received from other inmates at Scotland’s largest jail, Barlinnie, where he was originally incarcerated.
