Michael Conlan took to Twitter to boast of his medal haul, but it didn’t go exactly to plan. The winner of this year’s RTE Sports Person of the Year Award posed with a his medals around his neck.
In October, Conlan became the first ever Irishman to win a World Championship title, defeating Murodjon Akhmadaliev in the 56kg bantamweight final. The boxer posed with the gold medal along with his other two golds from the European and Commonwealth Games, his silver from the European Games in 2013 and the bronze he claimed from the 2012 Olympics in London.
