As we reported during the week, the Egyptian Embassy has received a number of emails from concerned Irish citizens who do not want Ibrahim Halawa allowed back in Ireland.
Halawa was arrested with 400 Muslim Brotherhood supporters and is currently in jail in Egypt for his involved in the Muslim Brotherhood protests in Cairo in August 2013.
Many feel the fact that allegedly Halawa burned his Irish passport and tore the tricolor into pieces is enough to keep him out of our country in the first place.
Halawa allegedly denounced any connection to Ireland claiming to be fully Egyptian.
It must also be stated that the Muslim Brotherhood have beheaded Christian children in the Middle East – a group that Halawa is said to be connected to and on trial with.
If you’d like to email the Egyptian Embassy and voice your concern at Halawa possibly returning to Ireland, you can email them on – [email protected] or phone them on 01-66 06 566.
