Sex offender Mian Mujahid Ali Shahid (19) was arrested by gardai at Dublin Airport last night, as he attempted to board a flight to Dubai.
It is understood that Al Shahid had moved from Scotland to Ireland earlier this year, and had last been seen in the Foynes area of Co. Limerick on August 11th last.
An European Arrest Warrant had been issued against Al Shahid, and Garda had appealed for the public’s help in locating the man.
Born in Pakistan, Al-Shahid was convicted in his absence at Stafford Crown Court in April of two counts of sexual assault on an 18-year-old woman.
He was apprehended at around 10:40pm last night.
