The Labour Party leader Alan Kelly has called on the Government to reward all healthcare staff for their efforts during the Covid-19 outbreak.
Speaking in the Dáil on Thursday, Kelly called on the Government to offer staff a €1,000 bonus in recognition for their efforts.
Kelly told the Dáil chamber that the State should honour those who have done everything they can to halt the spread of the virus.
The labour leader said the payment would be a symbolic gesture that recognises their efforts for keeping everyone safe.
