
The Irish Navy vessel LÉ Samuel Beckett has rescued 130 migrants just off the Tripoli coast today.
The craft responded to a call made by the Italian Maritime Rescue Co-Ordination Centre. Once spurred into action, the vessel located a boat drifting 22 nautical miles north east of the Lybian capital, Tripoli.
LÉ Samuel Beckett has so far rescued 780 people during its current deployment.
