Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary compared RTÉ to a “rat-infested North Korean union shop” and he said that striking gardaí should be sacked and the same for transport unions.

In a speech giving at a Fine Gael fundraiser, O’Leary really went after RTE and the gardai. He is sick of the money wasted and the “pathetic service” the public receive.

The businessman said that gardai threatening strikes next month was “immoral”.
He criticised pension payments for gardaí who retire early, saying they do not contribute to the payments throughout their working lives and it was completely disgraceful.

He really went after cyclists and transport unions, saying the latter should be privatised.

During the 40-minute-speech, O’Leary said that RTE is a “rat-infested North Korean union shop”, to which some people in the crowd applauded.
