Thousands of Leaving Certificate students across the country will learn their fate later today as the Minister for Education is expected to make announcement before the Dáil.
According to RTÉ News, the Minister for Education Joe McHugh is expected to issue a memo calling for the cancellation of this year’s exams.
It is understood that the memo will also outline contingency plans if the exams are to be cancelled.
The latest developments come after it was confirmed in recent weeks that the State exams will go ahead on July 29th.
However it is thought that the Department of Education have come under pressure in recent weeks with many voicing their concerns over the safety of students if the exams were to take place.
