The legal noose has today tightened that little bit more around Trump’s neck, as a New York attorney has upgraded the investigation into the now disgraced former President to ‘criminal.’
The investigation into the Trump Organization’s affairs will also continue as a civil probe, but with a criminal component attached to it. This is quite significant, as Mr. Trump could now potentially face serious jail time, rather than just financial penalties arising from the civil case.
The probe centers around allegations that the Trump Organization might have misled insurers and lenders by knowingly and intentionally inflating or deflating the value of assets, depending on whether the Organization was looking for insurance or loans.
