The native Dubliner will celebrate her 95th birthday tomorrow, August 17, in the home of her grandson Conor Beau FitzSimons, with whom she currently lives.
O’Hara was born in Ranelagh, in Dublin city, in 1920. Herself and her five siblings showed promising dramatic and musical talent from early in their lives. Her original dream was to become an opera singer.
She is one of Ireland’s best known actresses. Throughout her very successful career, she worked with quite a few of Hollywood’s leading men, including John Wayne, Tyrone Power, Alec Guinness, Paul Henreid, Rex Harrison, Henry Fonda, Anthony Quinn, and Douglas Fairbanks Jun.
