Leo Varadkar says Fine Gael wouldn’t go into government with Sinn Fein not because of their past but because of their future policies

Leo Varadkar has said that Fine Gael will not be going into government not because of their past but because of their future policies.

It’s understood that the Taoiseach intends to go after Sinn Fein’s costings, in particular their tax policies in tonight’s leaders’ debate on RTE One.

Sinn Fein have been accused in the past of having “bonkers economics” in terms of their sums adding up, but they argue that Varadkar and Micheal Martin have done absolutely nothing in the last number of years in government together.

The debate starts at 9:30pm on RTE One.
