Leo Varadkar says non-essential retail will remain closed beyond April

Non-essential retail will remain closed beyond April, according to Tanaiste Leo Varadkar.

It is understood that Ireland will see a ‘modest’ lifting of some lockdown restrictions during April and May, but no major change is expected.

The number of new daily cases has fallen significantly in recent weeks, but new virus variants still pose a threat.

It would appear as though the Irish government, and Leo Varadkar in particular, hasn’t turned out to be for “people who get up early in the morning”, as so he was so heavily criticised as saying pre-election.
