Whether Fine Gael’s Leo Varadkar is bluffing or not is anyone’s guess but he once again reiterated that Fine Gael will not be going into government with Sinn Fein.
He said in the RDS that “in this election Sinn Fein have done very well”, but said that his party will not be going into govenment with them.
It appears as though the outgoing Taoiseach is leaving it up to Fianna Fail to see what happens between Micheal Martin and Mary Lou McDonald to see whether Fianna Fail will go back on their word and actually form a government.
No doubt over the coming days and weeks, backroom phone conversations could change everything.
