After suffering a “setback,” the young girl who was critically hurt in a stabbing incident on Parnell Square in Dublin is down in the intensive care unit, reports The Mirror.

On November 23 of last year, the five-year-old was hurt in an incident outside a school in the north inner city. In addition, a female care worker and two other small children suffered injuries.

The mother of the five-year-old girl posted an update on Tuesday, January 30, on the GoFundMe page Barrog do Chailin Beag.

It said: “Just a little update. We experienced a little setback and are back in the intensive care unit. Obstacles are to be expected, especially on this lengthy journey “the mother of the little child wrote, reports The Mirror.

They are “still positive and hoping to get back on the ward,” she added. Let’s cross our fingers.”

The young child showed improvement at the end of December, and she was transferred from the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) to a ward.

She also started the third part of her recovery at the beginning of January, which her mother referred to as “the longest as she will relearn everything as a result of her injury,” reports The Mirror.
