Migrant accused of murdering his own wife in Cork gets sent forward for trial

A 41-year-old man has been brought before the Central Criminal Court to stand trial for the alleged murder of his spouse at their Cork home, reports RTE.

Regin Parithapara Rajan made a video connection appearance from prison before Cork District Court.

He is accused of killing Deepa Purthiyezhuth Dinamani, his 38-year-old wife, on July 14, 2023, at Cardinal Court, Wilton, Cork City, reports RTE.

Judge Mary Dorgan was informed by Sergeant John Kelleher that the State had served Attorney Eddie Burke with the book of evidence on behalf of his client.

Judge Dorgan expanded the free legal aid certificate to include coverage for both junior and senior attorneys.

Ms. Dinamani, a mother of a son aged five, hailed from Kerala, a region in southwest India, reports RTE.
