Ludicrous story that Covid-19 could be spread by farting goes viral

In what sounds like a ludicrous story, it seems that Government ministers in the UK have become concerned about the idea of Covid-19 being spread by people farting.

According to reports in The Telegraph newsletter, it is claimed that a number of Government officials in the UK have become concerned that the virus could be spread by flatulence.

It is reported that ministers have become so concerned about the idea, one minister told The Telegraph that there’s pretty credible looking information on the idea that the virus could be spread through farting especially in enclosed spaces such as public toilet cubicles.

The Telegraph reports that one Government Minisrer said there has been evidence of a genomical-linked tracing connection between two individuals from a [lavatory] cubicle in Australia.

Although previous research had been done on the idea of Covid-19 being passed through flatulence, researchers deemed it very unlikely.

However it is believed that British ministers have become concerned given that there had been documented cases of diseases spreading through waste pipes during the lockdowns in Hong Kong.

Despite the reported concerns it is believed that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson hasn’t been informed about the the theory that Covid-19 could be spread through flatulence, but a government official stated that the latest scientific evidence is kept under review.
