Major fire breaks out at Derry restaurant

A major incident has been declared after a blaze broke out at one of the most popular Derry restaurants, the Mandarin Palace in Queen’s Quay, off Clarendon St., in the riverfront area of the city.

It is understood the fire started in the kitchen.

Eight units of the fire brigade are present at the scene, and roads in the surrounding area have been sealed off.

The incident is still ongoing.

Three units of the fire brigade remain in attendance, tackling the blaze.
