It is understood that between four and seven houses are on fire in the Millfield Manor area of Newbridge, Co. Kildare.
Smoke can be seen billowing over most of the town.
Emergency services are at the scene. There are no reports of personal injuries at this time, and the cause of the blaze remains unclear.
