Gardai attended the scene as a child was injured in a ‘violent incident’ in an Irish county.
The incident happened inside a property at Clareabbey, on the outskirts of Ennis, Co. Clare, on Tuesday afternoon.
It is understood that a female child sustained serious injuries and was rushed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
The child and her mother are Ukrainian and were living in the property having fled the conflict in the Ukraine.
The girl has been rushed to Crumlin hospital where he condition is said to be life threatening.
Gardai say that they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident and believe the assault happened within the confines of the house.
