Make the most of today – the rest of the week looks like a washout




Today looks like it’ll be the best day of the week as dry, sunny spells will be experienced in most areas, but the rest of the week is looking like a washout.

“Monday will start off mainly dry with the best of the sunny spells in the East. Cloud will increase from the west with rain reaching the west coast by late afternoon. The rain will gradually extend eastward through the course of the evening with some heavy burst. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with moderate southwest winds backing southerly and strengthening ahead of the rain. On Monday night, rain will continue to spread across the country with some further heavy bursts.

Tuesday will be very windy with showers. The showers a mix of rain, hail, sleet but possibly some of snow especially on high ground with the odd thundery burst. Highest temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees with southwest winds increasing strong or very strong and gusty at times with Gales or strong Gales along Atlantic coasts. It will continue very windy Tuesday night. Westerly winds will veer northwest overnight and some further showers will occur some wintry with the continued risk of a thundery burst. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 6 Celsius.

Wednesday will continue windy with strong and gusty northwest winds. Showers that occur will be mainly of rain. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees. Showery rain mainly in the north and west overnight . Lowest temperatures of 5 to 7 Celsius with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds but strong at times along Atlantic coasts.”
