Gardaí in Limerick have confirmed that a man is currently recovering in University Hospital Limerick this evening after a shooting incident took place in the city this afternoon.
Gardaí say the man aged in his 30s was quickly taken to hospital by paramedics after the incident, which occurred at approximately 3pm this afternoon.
They also say a man aged in his late 20s has been arrested in connection with the shooting and he is currently being detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station.
