Gardai in Dublin have confirmed that a man aged in his 70s has died following a stabbing incident in Dublin.
It is understood that the man died following the incident which occurred on the Whitechapel Road, Clonsilla, at approximately 6am on Saturday morning.
Gardai say a man aged in his 40s was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident.
They added that he was later taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station where he is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
