Man and woman appear in court and plead guilty to charges relating to fatal mauling of 10-year-old boy by dog called “Beast”

Following the death of a 10-year-old boy in the UK, a man and woman have entered guilty pleas in a trial related to the ownership and responsibility of dogs.

According to the Mirror, Jack Lis was 10 years old when he was killed by a dog allegedly owned by 19-year-old Brandon Hayden.  The dog, an American bully or XL bully dog called “Beast” attacked the boy and seriously injured him.  Paramedics attended at the scene and tried to save his life but his injuries proved fatal and the dog was destroyed by police firearms officers.

Hayden appeared at Cardiff Crown Court alongisde Amy Salter.  Salter, 28, admitted that she was a person in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control, which caused injury that led to the boy’s death.  Hayden pleaded guilty to being the owner of the dog the caused his death.

It was also alleged that the dog had previously been aggressive to people in several different incidents before the attack that caused Jack’s death.
