Sinn Féin wins largest share of first-preference vote in Northern Ireland for the first time in history

Sinn Féin has won the largest share of first-preference vote in Northern Ireland for the first time in history.

The party obtained just over 29.02% of the votes.

This will likely translate into the party with most seats at Stormont.

Here in the Republic, Sinn Fein also won the last election but could not form a majority government, leading to the self-installation of a coalition of Fianna Fail, Fine Gael, and the Greens, a move that many think was a soft coup, but no one seems to care that much about.
