Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man aged in his 20s in connection with the assault of another man in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It is understood the arrest comes after a man aged in his 40s sustained injuries to his face following the incident which occurred outside a takeaway in Belgard Road area of Tallaght at approximately 3am.
Gardaí say the victim who did not require treatment at the scene presented at Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital the following day and remains in serious condition.
They also say the arrested man is currently being detained at Tallaght Garda Station under provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
