Gardaí in Limerick have confirmed that a man has been arrested following a stabbing incident on Monday afternoon.
It is understood that the man was arrested after another man aged in his 20s was seriously injured after being stabbed at an apartment in Riverpoint apartment block, near Mallow Street.
Gardai say the injured man was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment, whilst the other man believed to have been involved in the incident was arrested on Dock Road a short time later.
They added that the man is currently being detained at Henry St Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
