The accident happened at a farm in Mourneabbey, near Mallow, Co Cork, at 7.30pm on New Year’s Eve.
A JCB crushed the 40-year-old man to death as he was feeding cattle.
Emergency services were called by a relative, but they could only certify the man’s death. The Health and Safety Authority was notified of the tragic event.
