Police said a man was found dead after being stuck in a freezer at a home in Minnesota, reports Sky.
Brandon Lee Bushman’s body was found in a basement chest freezer on June 26 after reports that he was seen running from the top floor of the property due to the presence of nearby police.
The 34-year-old had an active arrest warrant.
According to the Gilbert Police Department report, evidence at the scene led to the belief that he entered the freezer voluntarily, reports Sky.
An autopsy showed no injuries or bruises.
The device was not working when his body was found because the house had not been connected to the mains since April last year.
The house has been empty since February 2023.
The investigation found that a metal rod was inserted from inside the freezer, which became stuck during a failed attempt to open the latching mechanism.
The police said: “Evidence on the scene indicates Buschman entered the freezer on his own accord,” reports Sky.
They added: “The freezer was an older model with a latching mechanism on the outside. When closed, the freezer is not capable of being opened from the inside,” reports Sky.
