A man in his 40s is recovering hospital after an aggravated burglary in Co. Louth.
The incident happened on Friday evening in the town of Ardee in the county.
It is understood that two men entered a house and proceeded to assault a man living there before fleeing on foot.
A man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident a short time later.
The victim is in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where his injuries are described as ‘serious’ but not life-threatening.
