Police in the UK have confirmed that the body of a man has been recovered from the top of an 80m chimney.
In a statement Cumbria Police, confirmed that the man’s body was recovered following lengthy operation on Monday.
It is understood that the man became trapped on Dixon’s Chimney in Carlisle, Cumbria, in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police say they are currently trying to determine how the man became trapped on top of the chimney.
It is believed that a number of attempts were made to rescue the man, however he was sadly pronounced dead at 4:45pm on Monday.
