Dublin Fire Brigade have confirmed that a man was rescued from the River Liffey on Sunday night.
In a tweet Dublin Fire Brigade revealed that the man was rescued after entering the water at Victoria Quay.
It is understood that the man was taken ashore after a passers-by threw a life buoy into the water.
Dublin Fire Brigade say the man was later taken to St James’s Hospital for treatment.
