Gardai are this evening on the hunt for a male who unsuccessfully attempted to hold up a post office in Donegal earlier today.
The incident happened in Kilmacrennan, Donegal, this morning. It is understood that a man wearing a balaclava and gloves entered the post office there and struck the inner glass window with a heavy implement.
It is unclear whether he managed to take anything. The post mistress was left distressed, but otherwise unharmed.
The raider was was wearing a bulky blue jacket with a white stripe across it, and blue baggy tracksuit bottoms with a light blue stripe down the side as well as dark trainers.
