The body of a 30-year-old South Dublin man was discovered this morning in the same place as Baby Maria was found some weeks ago.
The man reportedly had multiple stab wounds on his body, and it is believed that drug gangs may be involved.
Gardai are saying that there isn’t any obvious link between this grim discovery and Baby Maria, though they are not ruling anything out at this point.
Official sources said that the most likely explanation was that gangs were aware of the absence of CCTV in and around the Steeltown Lane area, and used that to their own advantage.
The Garda press office has appealed to any witnesses who may have been in the area of Steelstown lane late last night or early this morning, or to anyone who can assist with this investigation to contact Clondalkin Garda Station on 01-6667600, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
