Massive online support for Leixlip farmer Thomas Reid who fought the law… and won

There has been massive support on social media for Leixlip farmer Thomas Reid after a documentary that depicted his trials and tribulations with a CPO order to buy his house to convert it into an Intel factory development.

Social media users have been stating that the man is a true hero, someone who stands by his principles and can’t be bought.

‘The lonely battle of Thomas Reid’ depicted the legal wranglings that Leixlip farmer Thomas Reid endured when he took on the State and Intel to keep his family home and farm.

The farmer’s family had been in the property for more than 100 years and all he wanted to do was be able to continue to live his peaceful life happily in his home.

But the IDA and Intel had other plans for the softly spoken farmer. They decided to come down hard with a CPO sale of the lands, something that thankfully for Thomas was rejected upon appeal.

The film was been lauded already for its incredible depiction of what happened to his quiet gentleman and how he eventually won his lonely battle.
