Media “blackout” on man arrested and charged for allegedly burning the Gay-Pride flag in Waterford City

In June this year, it was widely reported that a Gay-Pride flag was allegedly burned in Waterford City.

The flag burning caused outrage across the country and even made headlines internationally. Minister for Children, Green Party TD and gay man, Roderic O’Gorman was so outraged, he made a special trip to raise the flag once more in the City.

As reported in the Irish Examiner, gardai arrested a man in his 40’s and the man was charged with a count of criminal damage and was due to appear at Waterford District Court on July 6.

The Garda press office confirmed that the man in his 40’s did appear in court on July 6th.

However, the story has gone cold here.
As far as we can ascertain, no media outlet, or at least next to none, has reported on the outcome of the court case.
