Good news on the jobs front today, as it has been announced that medical technology company Stryker will create a large number of jobs at a new global centre of excellence in Co. Cork.
An official announcement is expected later in the week.
The company plans to build a brand new facility in Carrigtwohill, in east Cork, before the end of the year.
The corporation was founded in 1941 by Michigan-based orthopaedic surgeon Dr Homer Stryker, and currently employs over 25,000 people worldwide, with around 1,200 staff working across three plants in Ireland.
