Mercy University Hospital Cork introduces visitor restrictions in an effort to halt the spread of the influenza virus




Management at Mercy University Hospital Cork, have implemented visitor restrictions in the interests of patient safety.

It is understood that the hospital introduced restrictions following the significant rise in influenza cases.

The hospital say any potential visitors have been advised to stay away from the hospital in order to combat the spread virus.

However the restrictions do not apply to those who are visiting young patients or the critically ill.

The hospital say the decision will be reviewed on a daily basis.
