According to the national forecaster, there will be frequent outbreaks of rain throughout the day today, with daytime temperatures remaining in single digits.
The weather will become gradually colder from tomorrow, with the possibility of sleet and snow on high ground.
The outlook is for cold weather to continue throughout the weekend.
