Met Eireann is forecasting a bright and fresh Saturday, but the weather is set to take a turn for the worse over the coming hours.
According to the national forecaster, Ireland will see a great deal of sunshine for most of the day.
Cloud cover will begin to build towards evening however, giving way to rain showers late in the day. Saturday evening is expected to be rather wet and windy.
Sunday will start very wet and blustery in the southwest, with drier conditions elsewhere. Unsettled weather conditions are expected for most of the day, with some heavy, blustery showers mixed with clear and bright spells.
The outlook is for unsettled conditions to continue throughout the first half of the week, with overnight temperatures sinking to 3-6C.
