Met Eireann has issued a nationwide advisory warning for winter weather.
According to the national forecaster, the next few days will be noticeably colder as an Arctic air mass settles over Ireland.
Daytime temperatures are expected to remain in single digits for the entire week, with thermometers sinking to below freezing after dark.
The warning will remain in place until Saturday evening.
