The national forecaster has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for snow and ice covering the province of Connacht, and counties Cavan and Donegal.
The warning kicked in at 6pm today, and will remain in effect until 11am on Monday morning.
Wintry showers overnight are expected to become snowfalls, particularly on high ground, as temperatures drop to below freezing.
