Met Eireann has issued an urgent Status Orange warning for 12 counties amidst miserable weather conditions.
The warning, which covers the whole of Connacht plus counties Cavan, Donegal, Clare, Longford, Offaly, and Westmeath, will be in place until 10pm tonight.
According to the warning, many areas around these counties are likely to experience thunderstorms, torrential rain, and localized flooding.
