Met Eireann has issued an urgent weather warning for low temperatures affecting most of the country.
The warning, which covers counties Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, and all of Connacht, will come into effect on Thursday evening and remain in place until noon on Friday.
According to the national forecaster, the thermometer will fall to lows of -3C at times, potentially causing hazardous driving and walking conditions.
