The national forecaster has issued a warning for heavy rainfall, as up to 50mm of rain is forecast to fall over a 24-hour period.
The Status Yellow warning covers counties Donegal, Galway, Mayo, and Sligo, and will be in place from 3pm on Friday.
Met Eireann says that the combination of heavy rain, high seas, and strong winds, might lead to flooding across coastal areas.
