Met Eireann has reminded people to wear sunscreen this week as very high temperatures are forecast right up to evening time.
Temperatures could reach as high as 30C across some places today, warmer in inland areas with a “real feel” of even higher.
The forecast for the coming days is for long periods of sunshine and temperatures reaching the high 20s most days.
And the good news is that current predictions indicate that the summer-like weather might remain into next weekend with the heatwave lasting for possibly even longer if we avoid the Atlantic front.
