Met Éireann have issued a yellow status rainfall warning which will remain in place until this evening.
The warning comes as heavy rainfall is expected in counties Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wicklow and Meath.
Met Éireann say the warning will remain in place until 9pm tonight.
It is expected that between 20 and 30mm of rain is expected fall in the region.
