Met Eireann predicts a mixed bag of weather for the June Bank Holiday weekend, with persistent rain in parts of the country and temperatures of 21C in other areas

Met Eireann has issued a weather forecast report for the coming June Bank Holiday weekend, and it’s looking like a mixed bag of rain, sunshine, and warm temperatures.

A Status Yellow warning for heavy rain remains in place for counties Donegal, Mayo, and Galway, where persistent rain may lead to localised flooding. The warning will expire at 3pm this afternoon.

Southern and eastern parts may see better weather conditions today, Friday, with temperatures reaching 20-21C at times.

Saturday is likely to be rather wet, but showers will be lighter and more widespread. Highest temperatures of 18-19C.

Sunday will start off very wet, but brighter weather will develop towards the afternoon and evening, with temperatures dipping slightly to about 14-17C.
