Summer is well and truly over (not that we really had one anyway), as Met Eireann is predicting a period of very unsettled weather in the coming week.
According to the national forecaster, there will be heavy rain and blustery wind and the possibility of thundery downpours at times.
Met Eireann says that conditions might ease and improve somewhat by the weekend.
