The trailer for The Batman has just landed online, with the movie slated to premiere some time next year.
This time around, Robert Pattinson dons the Caped Crusader costume. Pattinson is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Edward Cullen, the poster teenage boy vampire in the prudish and young audience-friendly romp Twilight (2008). Here, he will square up against one of the classic villains, The Riddler, played by Paul Dano.
The latest Batman is being marketed as a darker and moodier take on the character, perhaps more akin to its original vision. In the dimly-lit trailer, Batman is seen pummelling an already downed goon for good measure before rising and uttering ‘I am vengeance.’
