Met Eireann has urgently extended its nationwide snow and ice warnings as weather conditions worsen after dark.
The warning will now remain in effect until 11am on Thursday.
According to the national forecaster, most of Ireland will experience subzero temperatures overnight, leading to hazardous walking and driving conditions in the morning.
